Government Secures Contract to Purchase Cayman Brac Lighthouse Lands

The Government of the Cayman Islands has confirmed that a contract for sale agreement has been secured to purchase parcels of land surrounding the historic Cayman Brac Lighthouse.
The announcement was made during the NCFC Government’s First 100 Days in Office community update at Scott’s Dock, held on August 22nd.
The Lighthouse lands were recently listed for sale, sparking public concern and calls for preservation. Following conversations with Government Ministers, the National Trust for the Cayman Islands, and the National Conservation Council, swift action was taken to respond to the voices of the people.
This decisive step ensures that one of Cayman Brac’s most iconic and culturally significant sites will be safeguarded for future generations.
